Kristoffer Diel - Certified Marine Investigator

Kristoffer Diel has been a practicing marine surveyor in North, Central and South America since 1996, specializing in vessel overhaul and rebuilding compliance. He is currently based out of New Orleans, LA.

He had six years as a US Navy engineer, and afterward went into private industry as an Automatic Combustion Control system designer and installation technician. After gaining a BS degree in Cartography, he spent 20+ years as a business owner involved in International Logistics and Disaster Management. After cruising on his yacht through central and South America for a few years, he then spent 7 years managing a Yacht Repair facility and International Yacht Club in the Panama Canal Zone.

After earning a first-in-class at Chapman School of Yacht Surveying in 2002, Kristoffer joined SAMS and became an Accredited Marine Surveyor in Jan 2006. He is also a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, the U.S. Naval Institute, and the Navy League. He has been teaching boating safety classes and conducting Vessel Examinations for the USCG Auxiliary since 2004, and is accredited by the American Boat and Yacht Council.

Kristoffer has been a member in good standing with IAMI since 2004 and became a CMI-1 in March 2007.
