Mr. Simon has been an IAMI member since 1995, serves as an IAMI Certified Instructor, and completed his Certified Marine Investigator status in Baton Rouge, LA this year.

He has been a licensed multi-line casualty claims adjuster since 1982 following thirteen years in the repair industry.

Jerry worked for First Marine Insurance Company before starting SHIPs, Inc.  He is a SAMS Accredited Marine Surveyor (1999), and is actively involved in continuing education for the insurance industry and related fields.

With an extensive background in marine damages and repair, he has been certified as an Expert Witness in both State and Federal Courts, is an approved instructor for State Accredited Adjuster Continuing Education, is a presenter for NASBLA’s Advanced Boat Accident Reconstruction Program, and instructed a hands-on two day Small Power Watercraft Training program dealing with proper evaluation and establishment of marine damages.
